I'll be keeping beet and blood orange juices in mind next time I need a bit of color, because I don't use artificial coloring. Everything was pink in my kitchen but it was worth it.

Wanderluck: The colors are the best part, i think!

Jude: Give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Sarah: Totally know what you mean! It's festive food!

Jen: With a name like yours, you're practically required to give it a shot. I'll have to try that beet ravioli. Sounds yummy!

Jennifer: I think kids would love this! I was thinking about maybe trying the puree out in pancake batter for fun pink pancakes!

Carla: The ice cream can be a hard sell, but i think if it's paired with something (like some yummy cheesecake) it would go over really well

Naomi: Unfortunately the gnocchi loses the bright color when it's cooked, but it does still retain a dull pink. Almost like a mauve color. The ice cream stays bright and gorgeous, but I'll look into ways of keeping the pink, pink and will report back!Alejandra Ramoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01188236667131395996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-720533874747570790.post-79953111023239964332008-08-08T04:09:00.000-04:002008-08-08T04:09:00.000-04:00I use beetroot juice to colour things pink as my s...I use beetroot juice to colour things pink as my son can't eat berries. We often have a pink banana smoothie or ice-cream.

I just wanted to ask though, did the gnocchi stay pink? I've tried making pink bread with beets and although the batter is a fantastic shade of pink, it always comes out of the oven rust coloured or orange. Maybe it's because I used beet pulp left over from juicing?

I'd love to know the secret to keeping the colour anyway!

x x xNaomi Devlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07282911907338291478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-720533874747570790.post-41169530186173457582008-08-07T17:58:00.000-04:002008-08-07T17:58:00.000-04:00Since my local farm has beets on sale, I've been i...Since my local farm has beets on sale, I've been in a beet mood these past few weeks.
