"Pig in a Blanket" Party Favors

This past weekend, I brought some of my friends and family together for a big family style dinner to celebrate my 33rd birthday. The menu? A lavish whole pig feast at DBGB, a restaurant here in NYC, that included appetizers, sides, a whole roast stuffed suckling pig, and a giant baked Alaska for dessert.

It was an awesome meal and I loved being able to share it with some of my favorite people. I wanted to give everyone a little gift to remember the evening, so I decided on these cute little pig keychains (very much in theme with the meal!).

My dad actually gave me one of these a couple years ago, and I loved it, so decided to get a bunch for my friends.

The keychains double as a little flashlight, and make an oinking noise when you push the button.

(Honestly, the noise sounds more like a croaking frog, but whatever...it's cute.)

To gift them, I cut out 8" circles of scrap fabric and tied them up with burlap twine.

I added a little label that I designed and printed out on Avery kraft paper labels (the same ones I used for the baby shower favors I made the other day!), and stuck onto cardstock.

The pigs in a blanket made for fun little party favors, and would be great for any kind of event--an outdoor pig roast, a luau, a kid's pig-themed birthday party, or any other kind of pig-themed event.
